I strongly thing remixing is a important part of literature and all its adaptations. By remixing we are able to build upon previous works and even make them better. The example with price and the music copyright just goes to show how much artists and producers value their work, and will even go as far as taking down someones video just because of a song. Copyright is a major hindrance to remixing and in the long run these laws may get so strict that we wont have any remixes at all. New ideas emerge every day around us, and through remixing we are able to expound upon these ideas and even create new ones in the process.
yeah I totally agree that remixes are an important form of art and I think that copyright is a major obstacle to creating remixes these days!
ReplyDeleteCopyright is a important tool to ensure the security of people’s intellectual property. Without it, people would be less incentivized to create new things because there would be no security against people stealing from them and ensuring that they profit from their work.
ReplyDeleteI never thought about this from this point of view, remixing is an important part of literature. Using remixing can introduce new ideas based off others. I also think strict copyright laws are not allowing for remixes in modern day life.
