Subversion Ashia

 What are some subversion examples the author mentions? Can you think of other two books or movies that are subversions? Why are they subversions?

Examples of subversion that the other mention were “The ABZ Book”, “Where the Wilds Things Are” and “It’s Just a Plant”. A movie that acts as a subversion is “Neighbors”. It’s similar to “It’s Just a Plant” because shows suburban parents smoking marijuana while having relatively normal lives. Another example is would be the movie “Moms”. It portrays mothers acting and doing things you wouldn’t typically relate to mothers.

2.       What do you think of “Go the Fuck to Sleep?” Who should be the targeted audience for this book?

I     I like the alternate perspective of “Go the Fuck to Sleep” and how realistic the concept is. Given the expletive, the book is obviously not for children. It uses the children book genre but is directed as adults which is a further subversion.
