Subversion and Redemption
1. The author mentions Good Night Goon (Rex), The Taking Tree (Travesty), and Where The Mild Things Are (Send-Up) as subversion examples. Additional movies that I can think of as being subversions are La La Land and Rocky Horror Picture Show. In La La Land the characters don't end up together like most people would suspect and in Rocky Horror Picture Show the subject of sex is dealt with openly and in a natural manner.
2. I thought GTFTS was very funny. I really liked the idea of authors making fun of things and telling stories from an unusual perspective, I like for things to be lighthearted and not serious all of the time. I think the target audience could be adults and not just limited to those that are parents, most adults would enjoy this and find it funny.
