Subversion and Redemption
Terri Patkin, in his passage uses certain examples to further define subversion with books like The Three Little Pigs from the Big Bad Wolf's perspective, The ABZ Book, and Where the Wild Things Are. A movie I know of that would easily fall into the lines of this category is The Others because it is about people who are being haunted by ghosts only to find out later on that they are actually ghosts and are haunting living people. Another form of subversion could be the movie, The Talented Mr. Ripley. In a nutshell the main character kills another guy and assumes his life because they looked so alike. No one expected that. I thought GTFTS was hilarious and is similar to my sense of humor because it was so unexpected. The target audience should be matured adults in my opinion.
