Remix- Arielle Powell

The first example is about a mother, Stephanie Lenz, who posted a video of her baby dancing to a song by Prince. She was then sued and faced with a $150,00 fine if she did not remove the video because it was so called infringed on the artist's copyright. It was wrong the way they acted. If she was making money off the video then there would be consequences and she would be wrong. Without copyright, we would not have remixes. I believe it is ok to have a remix as long as you know the laws surrounding copyright. We are living in a remix culture and it isn't a bad thing. Everything comes from somewhere. Ideas form from previous ideas.
