Remix
I think these stories explained by the author were labels of "remixes." I think this is important in this day and age because almost everything is recycled into something new. I do not believe someone should be sued if they remix a song for example. However, I do agree with big name stars who get sued because they create a song almost exactly like an old song--with no credit or benefit to the original writer. That is only because those stars are making millions in profits. But everyday people, such as the story with the mom and her dancing baby, do not profit from such things-- or if they do it is not millions in profit. I think the music industry is looking at a new age of trying to control this "remix" phase, and how best to do it. It is similarly related to plagiarism in a way. I suppose you could say remixing is like plagiarism for the music world.
I agree that agree that everything is recycled. I think that is really cool.
ReplyDeleteI agree that remixing of songs should be allowed, but the original artist should get a portion of royalties from the remixed song because it was their idea/music that is the basis for the remix.
ReplyDeleteI agree that stuff is used many times over
