Olivia Barada Remix
The article starts off with a story of the a mom who posted her little boy dancing to a prince song and she had posted it on the internet to share with family, but eventually becomes a big hit. Here we see the battle of copyright from big companies. I believe the company was in the wrong for wanting her to take down the video because it violated their copyright policy. Today many of us teens use memes and create new funny captions for them, but not many will come forward saying you had violated copyrights. I think people should be able to remix in their own style but still give credit to those they have taken from, like a beat/song.
I agree if you give credit, like referencing in a research paper, to the artist than there should be no copyright infringement. I believe if companies went as hard as the universal lawyers than there would be many more cases of being accused of infringing the copyright, which would not be good for the industry as a whole.
ReplyDeleteI agree with giving credit. Making something your own is great, but if someone else's idea inspired it, giving credit is a must to keep it legal and ethical.
ReplyDeleteI agree that everyone has the right to creating a remix, as long as they give credit. It's great if something inspires someone to create their own work, but they should credit the person/work who inspired them in the first place.
