Chapter 7
This whole chapter was about ways to analyze texts and visuals, as well how to utilize them. More in depth it talks about active reading, and all the different ways to scan and summarize. It is a beneficial chapter because it not only explains what each strategy is, it also explains when it will be beneficial to use. I also liked how it included visuals and their benefits when writing. It also talked about how to use them effectively as they can be misused and can actually drag down your paper. This chapter gave me ideas for strategies and ways I can go about my own research paper. I think it will be easier for me to read over my gathered information since I have learned about skimming and scanning in this chapter. I hope this can help make my research even stronger.
I also really liked that it explained when the strategies would be the most beneficial to use. If we follow the texts suggestions as to when to use each strategy, our papers will collectively improve.

ReplyDeleteI do think that if your putting these source in your text you should be able to thoroughly know what your sources are saying. When it comes to the longer articles, its good to be able to know how to get the important info out of your articles.
