Jordan Arrington -- Chapter 7
Chapter seven of the "Bedford Book of Genres" was quite a bit more useful to me than the information we read in chapter five. The text gave a list of different strategies and explained them well, which I liked, but I think the most useful explanation it gave about the strategies was when to not use whichever strategy as it would decrease the value your paper if used in that situation. For example when the text mentioned that you should directly quote the words of Todd Beamer instead of paraphrasing them as paraphrasing would cause the words to be lacking. This chapter has given me new insight into certain strategies that I will be trying to use for my research paper. I also feel like I will often come back to this chapter when writing my research paper to ensure that I am integrating my sources correctly or to see if there is a better strategy for me to attempt.
I agree with this being helpful, more than any other chapter that we have covered. The examples really help plus their explanation made it easy to understand. I will also be going back to this chapter as a reference while writing my paper.
ReplyDeleteI agree that this chapter was helpful and will continue to be helpful as write more papers.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I'll probably visit this chapter for help in the future too. It's useful info.
