Jordan Arrington BBG Ch.5

The reading we were assigned in the "Bedford Book of Genres" fit well with our coming transition into the research essay we will be working on within the next couple weeks. The information given was solid and well thought out. Those things being said, I do not believe the information was useful past the brainstorming list section. The text went too in-depth about picking a topic telling you to ask more and more specific questions in order to get a topic. This deeper and deeper questioning seemingly became redundant as it went on. I found myself at a point where I was reading the headers of the paragraphs and choosing which blurbs of text I thought might be useful rather than reading and learning from the text. Overall, the reading felt unimportant and only useful for those that are truly stumped on picking a topic to research.

  1. I agree that the information was pretty good but that it did become very redundant at a certain point.

  2. I think this is what happens when you start to get of track from the direction of your paper or original paper. I think a outline helps me a little when ever i do one.

  3. I also wrote about some of the information being useless. I found my self skipping over less important information. I also agree that the reading seemed to repeat too much to get its point across
