Lane Clifford- Really Responding
1. What surprised me about this text was the amount of detail the author put into it. It surprised me that the author said if you want to do a good job that peer review is such a complex task. There are so many steps that I never took before when I would peer review papers.
2. Yes I do think the strategies in the text will help me in peer review because the author even says it's a process that can make you learn more about yourself as a writer. The reasons that stuck out to me were how when reviewing you can give constructive criticism and that helps you see yourself as a responder to the writing. I also liked that the author says to help the writer you can write comments on ways to improve the paper and little comments that summarize what the writer is saying.
3. Yes I have done peer review in the past I did it all through school and in my college classes last semester. I like doing peer review because it gives you a chance to have your writing looked at before it is graded. You get another opinion on how to improve your work.
