Shitty First Drafts: Reading Response

After reading "Shitty First Drafts" I realized that not all writers are naturally gifted, and to create a good and fluid piece of writing you need to trust the process. That process includes sitting down and just typing anything really that comes to your mind to create a first draft. And it's okay if half of it makes no sense because it's just the first draft and everyone writes a shitty first draft. That's why we go back over our writing and make things more precise and make sure everything actually makes sense in our second draft. No one writes a novel in one sitting. It takes a lot of editing to make a fluid piece of writing. Then you can do your third draft to perfect the paper and hopefully after getting a chance to read over and edit your work you are left with a great final draft. This made me realize that I need to just relax and let the words flow!
