 1. Overall I was surprised on how I should actually approach peer reviews. The writer was very straightforward and he sounded very intelligent. I learned you should not tell them what they want to hear but be honest in a very kind manner and not only include the positive.
2. I believe that these strategies in the text can help in peer review. One thing that stood out is "how you sound". You write your comments like you would normally talk to a writer. I believe that if you come off too harsh the writer will not want to take your advice and just disregard it all together. But if you come to them in a friendly manner then they will respect and may be more open to what you say. Another one that stood out to me was "praise and criticism". Like before I would not only focus on the bad but also on the good things in their paper and comment about them. I like this because you are not just bashing them and making them feel like they did poorly but you are "praising" them for the things that you feel are good.
3. I have done peer reviewing in the past and I have found that it is very helpful and insightful. Overall my experience with peer review is positive but this time I don't want to do it. I don't like my paper and I feel as if I will be judged and criticized in my writing. It would be fine to me for the teacher to read it because it is their job but in this setting, I'm not really liking peer review. I believe that if I was more confident in my paper then I would have no problem but I am not.
